ViTA is a fitness training setup for home environments. It is used to integrate various sensors such as heart rate monitors or combined biometric sensor devices, e.g. the E3, Android based smartphones as well as the Microsoft Kinect into a seamless training environment.

The goal is to offer people at home the option to use a variety of different sensors and interfaces to create an immersive training setup together with a comprehensive history of their fitness training as well as the possibility to exchange training data with friends and family members for increased motivation.

The ViTA project was conceived and implemented in the course Ubiquitous Computing offered by the Institute of Media Informatics at Ulm University during the summer semester 2014 and the following winter semester 2014/15.
